My question is can I renew my PR Status in my particular scenario:
My status is:
- I am holding a PR Card, valid till June, 2008
- I have completed 370 days of residency in Canada as of today
- I am at present working in Canada
- I have filed tax returns in Canada
- I have a bank a/c, credit card from a Canadian Bank
- I have stocks in Canada to the tune of CAD 2,000/-
- my daughter applied for citizenship in Canda in February, 2007 and the file is in process (she is an undergraduate student in Canada)
Now, I got a very good job in Doha - Qatar as HR Manager. If I decide to move out of Canada:
a) how does it affect my PR Card and my residency requirements
b) can I renew my PR Card in advance before I move out from Canada
c) do I have to inform CRA or any other regulatory agency?
d)am I obliged to file income tax for the coming years?
e) if I keep my bank accounts and stocks (as indicated above), will not help me to stay as a permanent resident?

1.To maintain your PR status you should spend 2 years (2x 365 days) out of 5 years (5x 365 days). If you move out of Canada now I do not think you will be able to maintain your PR status.
2. To the best of my knowledge you cannot renew your PR status now.
3. You need not inform CRA if you move out as you can always file taxes from abroad.
4. See tax professional for this but you can choose not to file taxes in Canada if you are not living there anymore and the country where you are living has signed dual taxation agreement.
5. Your bank accounts and stocks will not help much.

Please clarify the following.
i hold a PR Card which is valid until july 2008.
in order to renew it as i am still not eligible to apply for the citizenship how soon should i apply for renewal.
can i apply for renewal right now.
Await your advice on this matter.
