Hi Roy....thanks for all your help on this forum.....
My mother came to canada on visitor visa nd her visa is going to expire on July 4th, 07. She came to Canada to provide prenatal and postpartum help to my wife.......Now we need to extend her visa because we belive we need her for extended period of time....we requested our doctor to write a letter for an extension and she did provide us a letter stating that. My question is that CAN WE APPLY FOR AN EXTENSION OF ONE YEAR FROM JULY 4TH, 07 TO JULY 08 OR THE VISA EXTENSION IS ONLY FOR 6 MONTHS.
Secondly in application form for visa extension they ask us to provide information about the family member. ARE THEY REFEREING TO ALL THE FAMILY MEMBERS OR ONLY THE DEPENDENT FAMILY MEMBERS BECAUSE MY MOTHER HAS NO DEPENDENT FAMILY MEMBERS.

Good Luck you will need it. CVV extensions are for the period you request. The longer period you request (MAX 6 Months) the less likely to get an approval.
You have a child not something really rare. Try since your wife had a child you never had a chance to show Mom what you intended to show her in the first place.
Think of something unusal and interesting to most Canadian´s depending on where you reside.

You mean to say that WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO APPLY FOR AN EXTENSION MORE THAN 6 MONTHS because i have applied for one year extension because i work full time and sometimes i am away from home for days because of my work. I belive if the extension is maximum for 6 months then they will ignore my request and grant approval for six months if they feel klike the approval should be granted. Thanks for your help anyways.
Do we have the right to appeal if they refuse the application?
