| Subject: Is application returned with cheque or not? |
I just want to know if Application is always returned by CIC with cheque or money order or only the papers are returned.Does encashing of draft means application will not come back?

Once you submit your application the money is not refunded. This is processing fees. If any documents is missing or you have not entirely filled out the application it will be returned and you are given some time to get these sent. However; the application fees are not refundable (as far as I know)

That is not true. Once you submit your application and your applicaiton contains obvious omissions then the whole packed with the Money Order is returned. I had that happen to me. I had to provide evidence of legal status in the US and everything was returned back to me. \

To the second "Anonymous" poster from the top :
DO NOT POST INCORRECT INFORMATION AND MISLEAD MEMBERS.
The fee check is also sent back if your application is not accepted (missing docs) and not filed by the consulate. I know this from experience.
In some cases they would accept your application(i.e. you will get a file no.) but they may still ask for additional docs. In this scenario the fee is not refunded.

Rule is simple:
If they accept your application your fee is accepted.
If they send back your application your check is returned with it.
