Subject: physician and immigration issue: Canada or USA ?!?
  Dear guys,
I just became ob/gyn attending doctor in Croatia, Europe (small country, part of former Yugoslavia).
I know a lot of pros/cons for USA but nothing for Canada.
1)Is there any posibility to nostrificate my OB/GYN Diploma in Canada or I am supposed to start OB/GYN residency once again?
2) I think USMLE is a harder exam then MCCEE. Am I right?
3) It seems to me that get a job in Toronto or Vancouver is almost impossible.
4) Do anyone know something about doctor´s incomes in Canada? I heared that some Canadian doctor move to USA just because of that
5) Is it possible to live in urban area with a wife and a little kid with one residency´s salary. I know that´s impossible in New York City
Thanx

Answers to your questions (in reply to: physician and immigration issue: Canada or USA ?!?)
Hi Alex,
I would agree that USMLE is a harder exam than MCCEE.
There are many jobs in Canada, both Vancouver and especially Toronto. We have had a shortage for doctors for many years and it is still the case. It may take a little while until you adjust but after that you will enjoy the benefits of one of the best place in the world to live in.
It is true that doctors in US earn more then in Canada, but it is US after all.
You are asking "Is it possible to live in urban area with a wife and a little kid with one residency?s salary"... Absolutely, my family does.
