It means that they have checked how many points you get and if you pass the 67 mark then you are theoretically eligible for PR therefore they should request medicals along with any other extra documents they need if they want more info about you.

People have told me that it takes on average between 10 to 14 months since AOR. However cases vary greatly from individuals to individuals. This is if you applied through Skilled Worker, PNP is MUCH FASTER!!!

If CAIPS is ordered at a right time you can find out through that, i.e. if it has been done or which date they will do it.

From what I learnt about the process, once your IA is done you will be receiving a letter informing you of that fact and the steps to proceed further.

Initial assessment means whether you pass the preliminary criteria which is meeting the 67 points cut-off and no obvious inadmissibility issues (at that time). It also confirms whether an interview is required or not. If you pass the initial assessment, you are asked to submit medicals. Once your background and security checks are completed without any problems, they issue a request for your passport for stamping the visa.

You receive communication for IA, interview, medicals, further information, documents update, etc. These can come together or separately.

You are well within London processing times. No need to contact them at this point of time. You should get update letter or some form of communication from London in few months time.

You should hear from them in near future. If you want to contact them then you can but in most cases you get standard reply. You can also order CAIPS if you know someone in Canada to see whats happening with your file.
