Subject: PR visa and Work Visa
  Hi,
I have applied for a PR Visa from London, and have been informed that my application will be looked at in approx 45 months. I have since been contacted by a firm of Immigration Lawyers to say that they could get me a Work Visa within 2-3 months, and that it would be ok to do this whilst waiting for my PR Visa. Is this true, or are they just out to get some money off me?! Any advice would be greatfully received...

Thanks in advance,
Karen

I entered canada on a work visa when my PR application was in process.
My getting a work visa did not expedite the PR process, the PR application went as usual

I applied for work visa without any help from the immigration consultant.

I apologize that my case is/was a bit different from that of yours, blame my light day at work

Thanks for the reply, I hope you enjoy many more light days in the office!
The case sounds pretty similar, so thanks for sharing your experiences.
