How to start the process? (in reply to: ...) I am married to a Canadian girl as of jan 07 and we are planning on going through the process of work permit and permanent resident visa. I and my wife are slightly befuddled as to what the first thing is we have to do to go about setting the steps in action.
I am from England myself and spent the last ten years in Ireland s would i get my police report from Ireland?
So many questions we have to ask, who or where would be the best place to go to get them answered, we can´t afford to get ripped off by consultants, lawyers.

(in reply to: ...) Well, Go to www.cic.gc.ca
You must find most answers there. If not, come back to this forum.
Roy at www.cvimmigration.com is a good immigration consultant... I am not sure where he will rip you though ;)...LOL

(in reply to: ...) I would try hanging out in this website...

It is for people where 1 half of the couple is British and the other half is Canadian....
You can also read other things in the rest of the forum...I suggest that you give it a look as it is dedicated to people from this part of the world dealing with London High Commission....

(in reply to: ...) One more thing, I think that you want the family class visa. If your application is straight forward (no step kids....or other things) you could be all done and dusted in 6 months. We just got our visa....i think you should focus on the spouse application-outside visa....That should at least point you in the right direction. Good luck
