Which one?
Time line changes between offices abroad. Average time is around 3 weeks but as I said some HC might take a little bit longer or in some cases you may drop the Passport in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon.

Same question here:
Wife sponsoring from India.
Medicals were done and all police clearance certificates were submitted with the initial application on 1st April 2007.
I received a letter from the VISA section of CIC-Delhi 2 days ago requesting for my original passport.
What do they need the passport for?
Does it mean they have finished doing all checks or are they still processing?
How long does it take?

Thanks for the response. I´m sponsoring my husband and he received a letter to sumbit his passport. How long does it take once you submit the passport for Canadian High Commission to stamp a visa.

Usually when a Visa officer requests a Passport is just to finalize your application.
In most cases is to stamp the visa.
