I live in Europe as a student. My partner is a PR holder and he is in Canada. We are planning to get married soon. But my Question is I have an option to come to Canada as a visitor and start the process of spouse sponsership with in Canada. What I want know is:is there any advantage, time wise and the process as whole to start it in Canada or from the place where I am living now(Europe)???
I do appriciate your help.

Processing times are generally faster if you apply as a family member from abroad.
There is not advantage for applying from within Canada (Immigration wise). As a matter of fact is slower, you won´t be allowed to work until you are approved in principle and it might take up to 8 months or more to get there and if the application is rejected you will not have the right to appeal the officer´s decision.
If you apply from outside, it is faster and as soon as you land in Canada you can start working and you will have the right to appeal an officer´s decision if necessary.

(in reply to: PR process for spouse sponsership????) Thank you Bill. But I will have one more thing to ask.
The thing is:this summer I am planning to come to Canada for vacation and make the Merriage there in Canada. So is there any difference in having the marriage certificate of Canada or an Europian country while I will be applying from abroad when I will be back again to Europe after my summer vacation and marriage in Canada.
So in short my plan is to make a Canadian merraige certificate this summer and apply from Europe as spouse sponsership.Do we have to have an Europian merraige certificate to make our process faster????
