Subject: UNWED MOTHER GETS DEFERRAL OF REMOVAL |
|
|
|
Late yesterday my client Hong Zhang received a deferral of removal scheduled for June 18th 2007.
If Hong Zhang took her Canadian born child with her little Sherry would never be allowed to attend school unless her mother paid foreign student fees in excess of $17,000.00 US dollar. Yhat is a violation of the UN Charter on the Rights of the Child.
The mother would be fined a social maintenace fee of up to six times the disposable income for her province and in Canadian terms in excess of $130,000.00 Canadian dollars.
etc. etc.
The problem is that Immigration (CIC) and Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) have two seperate files for the same person. Until we sent all the information into CBSA with the supporting evidence they could not act on the request.
Now it appears that Ms. Zhang and her daughter can remain here for another 24 til 30 months until CIC looks at her Humanitaian and Compassionate application.

(in reply to: UNWED MOTHER GETS DEFERRAL OF REMOVAL) Very good... Roy, upon your request, I had written to the minister and I am sure many on this forum and elsewhere have done the same. Wondering if that helped!!

(in reply to: UNWED MOTHER GETS DEFERRAL OF REMOVAL) It is a good news to hear that Ms Zhang will be able to stay for another 2 years at least. What a relief!
Congratulations! (I also wrote to the minister!)
