Hello everyone (in reply to: Best City & County To Live - Vancouver & Canada)
Hello,

We are in the Philippines right now.
We planned to go to Canada in july as tourist visa
In your own opinion, could we acquire job during our stay?
Like hotel jobs? bec as you know there is a shortage of hospitality workers in canada which we discovered on-line.
We already talk to somebody here in the Philippines to assisst us to getting a PR/green card by immigration officer
in 6 months.
Is this possible?

Hope you can help us.

you are mixing up your countries. Green Cards are for the US.

You may look for work while in Canada but you cannot accept the job. You must apply for a work permit outside of Canada. This is different than a PR - it is temporary. once you are here, legally, you can apply for permanent status. It takes about 18 months.

depends on your skill level, hospitality workers are in short supply so there may indeed be work permit opportunities for you.

Shanon had explained it very well. On getting PR Card in six months in Phils. I don´t think so..Why don´t you try the normal procedure of Skilled Immigrant Application without Consultant (they will just take most of your money). We are willing to help you and cic.gc.ca website has all the info..

Hi,

I am Dan from Philippines now working on a cruise ship in Caribbean. I have a partner in Canada and we met in Manila in 2008. We are discreet men who want to live together in Vancouver. Do you have any idea regarding their requirements before they provide the marriage license?

Thanks,
Dan
