Subject: choosing centers for H1B multiple entry stamping
  Hello!

Me and my fiance are planning on driving to canada for - me to get multiple entry stamping based on my current visa -H1B and he to extend his F1 visa.

Both of us have our visa statuses and paperwork in order.

We live in Boston, so Montreal is 5 hrs drive and Toronto is about 8 hrs drive for us. Additionally, Toronto has a wait period of about 2 months for the appointment while it might be sooner at other centers.

My question is - Does the center matter? Is it good, to go to Toronto over Montreal or Ottawa?

Your input would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks

kd

A friend of mine who has been working in the US for over 4 years went to Canada for multiple H1 in December 2006 and has been there since!!! The US immigrations authorities only say that they are doing a background check...I wonder if they need more than 6 months to do it! The fellow lived in Chicago city and never even owned a car. He used the train! He is lucky because the company he works for needs him and so he is working remotely from Canada and getting paid in US. Think about how important you are to your company. I doubt if too many people will be lucky as him. Another friend of mine was fired the moment he faced problems at immigration...It took just one phone call from this guy to his company( He said he was having some problems at the immigration) to get fired!!!

I would consider Mexico over Canada... Canada is a risky business.. and once you are rejected .. you are just dead in the water...

If your documents are good it should not be a problem, Toronto is very busy center, try Quebec city (fastest) or Montreal

I went to Calgary and did not face any issue.
If you are carrying all required paper then you should not have any issue. There is 800 number(it´s US Department) on which you can call, they charge some money but tell you all paper work.

Note : It´s not only Canada but anywhere Visa stamping carrying risk.
