I am in the process of applying for my mother´s PR on Humanitarion grounds. My annual income does not meet the low income requirements therefore one of my close relatives in Canada is willing to co-sign the undertaking. However all the undertakings are very specific and ask only, IF YOU ARE SPOUSE OR COMMON LAW PARTNER" i was wondering if only spouse or common law partner may co-sign or any other close relative may co-sign as well. If yes, then how to complete the forms because questions are only related to spouse and common law partner.

Please help me and i shall always be thankful.

Like the question Malik, made me think.

First an Undertaking of Assistance on a H&C application is different. The applicant even though they are family are not considered members of the family class. H&C undertakings are something that can not be appealed to the Immigration Appeal Division.

There is no situation that the so called sponsor is approved or refused.

Your annual income does not need to meet the LICO. The issues you should be focused on is the hardship unusual and unfair or disprportionate! Concentrate on processing times.

This is what I did in this case and it worked. http://torontosun.com/News/Canada/2007/06/07/4241080-sun.html

Some medical doctors will provide you with a letter of how devastated you would be if parent is left back home for under $400.00 ca

Wish you all the best.

I appreciate your prompt reply, Roy. I have not submitted the application yet and i am in the process of getting information. Although undertaking of Financial Assistance is different in such cases but it is the MAIN concern of Immigration at the same time. I am already devastated so Doctors should not ask me money to write such letters unless this is their policy as i when i went to get a letter from doctor for my wife when she was preganant, doctor asked me 40 dollars for the letter. I said why are they asking money just to verify the information they already ahve on hand. Anyways, not an issue to discuss this. Could you please tell me the form no. i need to fill up for this sponsorship agreement OR please contact me if you can be of any help in filiing the case. I am willing to pay the fees. You may contact me at malkaan@hotmail.com
Thanks & regards
Malik
