Subject: Got PPR ! A few thoughts/suggestions.
  Hi Everyone,
Thanks to the forum for helping me get through the wait and for providing me great insights about Canada, Canadians and its culture in general.
I have finally received my PPR and here is my time line....

--------------------------------
Applied Dec 2004 @ Buffalo, NY
AOR April 2005
Med/FBI req Dec 2005
Med/FBI sent Feb 2006(did not pay landing fees with that)
Landing fees May 2006
PPR Oct 2006
Added child Jan 2007
PPR June 2007
-----------------------------

I am planning to land sometime later this year, and will be relocating next year. On the whole I observed very good communication from the CIC, both by e-mails and snail mails. One important observation was that once a while you need to send them a friendly e-mail reminder to wake them up (it worked for me for both PPR´s). I guess my case was not complicated at all and hence it went relatively smooth. Also I was in no hurry and hence did not send Landing fees etc, along with the FBI/Medicals. If you send them everything they require as soon as possible it WILL hasten your application processing time.

To everyone who has a application pending, all the very best !!

Congratulations Raj and all the best to you and your family!

Yours is an intersting observation. Although CIC website says that enquiries (be it by e-mail or else) would delay the process...

Yeah maybe, if you pester them, they will get ticked, but I usually wait long enough and send in a very polite e-mail asking about any updates. And then, what works for one may not for other, but it was just an observation, if more ppl can share their communication experience then we may know the exact modus operandi.

I agree no pestering but when you do email / fax they wake up and your case moves forward to the next stage and they are prompt abt replying.
