I became a PR last month (landed in toronto). I got my PR and SIN cards today. Currently, i´m working in middle east.Follwing are my questions.
1 I intend to go calgary next month. Do i need to renew my SIN card?
2 Can i use my Qatar driving liscence to get alberta lisence?

Social Insurance numbers are permanent (in reply to: alberta) Revanth:
Your SIN card number is a permanent number, I´ve had mine since 1964.........It identifies you to the Government, for income taxes. It also is a proof of your Immigration status in Canada, along with the Permanent Resident card.
Alberta requires you to write a knowledge test, and take a road test, before you can drive there. Each Canadian Province has it´s own set of rules about driving and how to get a driver´s permit. Only drivers from the USA and Great Britain are allowed to simply swap their old permits for a new one here.
