Subject: Vacation days and applying for citizenship
Hi - I would like to apply for citizenship and wanted to know if we can still apply if we have taken vacation days out of the country?

In my case I would be completing my basic residence in early July. According to CIC´s website though I need to wait to Oct to apply for citizenship since I have had vacations out of the country.

Can you please share your thoughts on whether I need to wait to Oct or can I go ahead and apply in July? Thanks

It weill take over a year to get it. (in reply to: Vacation days and applying for citizenship)
NT:

After you APPLY for Canadian Citizenship, it will take more than a year for you to receive notice to attend for your tests and interview, and a further number of months before you are sworn in as a citizen.

So, with that in mind, apply in October, and wait until you are contacted. From July to October is a small period of time, and the process is not going to be any quicker if you rush the timeline.

Spend some time on learning about what being a Canadian citizen is all about. It isn´t some thing that is given to you, you have to earn it, by study and education of your self. The test is simple but many people fail it, becaues they didn´t study properly, before hand.

Common sense tells you that you can apply for anything but if you do not meet the criteria you will be refused. Your signature and date you signed is official and you can not submit early based on that you will have enough residency when JIM BUNTING thinks they open your application.

Processing times are based on the number of applications in your area for the staff assigned. The smaller the centre the faster the processing times. If you can get an address out of the main population centres go that route.

NEVER EVER SUBMIT SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE FALSE DUE TO A TWO MONTH GAP.

WOULD YOU APPLY FOR A DRIVERS LICENSE BEFORE YOUR 16TH BIRTHDAY?
