Subject: US green card or Canadian PR
Hi - I am working in US on H1B, my employer is willing to support my green card

I want to know how many years it takes to get US green card compared Canadian PR , applying from Buffalo (my knowledge says it´s around 2 years)

also, if in future my employer don´t want to support me, then what happens ???, if my green card application is in process

If your employer is willing to support your green card and you are OK to live in US forever then you should go for it. You are lucky. I know many people who have permanent jobs and still they have to apply for green card by themselves.

If your employer does not support you in future and your green card is in process, my knowledge of the matter says that YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FEES by yourself (it may or may not include a lawyer) it is all about money.

I know that in some cases even when employers sponsor you, you still have to pay some of the fees.

US green card sponsored by employers takes about 2 to 3 years. I believe that Canadian PR is faster though it may depend from cases to cases. If you have a permanent job in US and you like it then why leaving ?

GC processing now a days is lot faster.

Depends on which category you are in; EB2 (faster) or EB3. Also your citizenship matters (for chinces/Indian it is slower for less quota).

I know some guys now got it less than an year in EB2.
