Subject: Advice please
At the time of application I was single but I just got married. I already sent a fax notifying change in marital status however Spouse will not accompany me to Canada as of now. Are there any documents I need to update? Will CIC assume that she is not accompannyimg me if I do not send any more documents? I already submitted medicals for myself and interview is not required. Thank you for your help!!!

You will have to fill up the IM0008 form again adding the information about the spouse in it and the photographs of spouse as directed by CIC website(ones with white background) and the copy of marriage certificate and copies of any educational documents of spouse.

Thanks.

Congratulations on getting married.

The cic does not assume anything. The onus of providing information will be on you. Fill the additional family form and let them know that your wife will not accompany you to Canada. Your application may proceed or be delayed a little bit. But dont worry, marriage will not hurt your immigration process.

Thank you Noshy and Almost Perfect for your prompt replies. Just to clarify things: I have to submit the additional family form, photographs, diploma and marriage certificate. Anything else?

Hello, I am a citizen of Canada. I wanted to know if I go to India and get married, can I bring my wife back with me on a visitors visa?
