Hello,
I am working on a post graduate(expires in FEB 08) in Ontario and my employer wants to get an LMO for me. I wanted to know how long is the LMO valid for and in what time period after its issued do we have to apply for work permit?
if i apply now i will get an LMO in 1-2 months but can i use it to apply for work permit in DEC07?
Please share ur exp. it will b much appreciated.

The LMO is good for two years and if you want to work legally of course you have to apply for a WP
Why do you think it will take one or two months?

So that mean if i get a positive LMO by August 07 i can apply for a work permit in FEB 08?
Is it valid for 2 yrs to apply for work permit?(if i get in August 07 its going to b valid till August 09)

yes LMO is valid for 2 yrs but you have to apply for WP within one year from the date it was issued. Let´s say your LMO was issued June 30,2007 then you have until June 30, 2008 to apply for WP.

how long did it take to get LMO?
what documents did u employer send with the application n did they request for more?
