Subject: foreign girlfriend/common law question
  What do I do next?
I am a Canadian living in Canada.
My girlfriend is German.
Together we have a 3yr.old daughter who was born in Germany while I was there working.
My daughter has German and Canadian citizenship.I have been together with my girlfriend for over 3 years.
I moved back to Canada over a year ago and my daughter and girlfriend came with me, although my girlfriend only stayed under 6 months, visited Germany, returned again and now is visiting Germany again.
We want to have another child, but here in Canada.
What do I need to do so that we are able to continue with a pregnancy here in Canada and have the baby born here, since this is where we call home, except we are not in a hurry to marry.
Would all the medical bills and Doctor visits be out of pocket,or since my girlfriend is commonlaw, can she use my BC Medical Insurance as a spouse?
OR, what do I need to do to so she can stay here and be covered under the medical system for having a baby? Sponsor, marriage?
Thanks for the help...

Sponsor her overseas it is faster.

If she comes for a visit again make sure that you copy everything regarding her visits. You can even sponsor her if you or she is not divorced. Do you not think it is time for a wedding though?

Consider three or four months for overseas processing and you will not be far off from Germany.

sponsor overseas? (in reply to: foreign girlfriend/common law question)
Can you walk me through that.Do you mean sponsor her while she is overseas in Germany?
I am living here in Vancouver again.
And regarding mariage, say we went to Vegas when she returns in a month and got married there...how long is the process for her to have coverage here medical wise and what steps do we need to take.
It probably is time for a wedding...

Why Vegas, not Vancouver ??? (in reply to: foreign girlfriend/common law question)
Why would you not get married in Canada ? After all by your own words, "this is where we all want to live "?
