Subject: proof of funds - quick question |
Do you still have to show proof of settlement funds when they ask for it if during the PR processing time (means after applying but before IA) you get a non-permanent job in Canada (like 2 years) ?
Thanks

(in reply to: proof of funds - quick question) the scenario you are discussing is highly unlikely to occur. You have no way to predict whether the employer is going to hold that job for you until your application is completed. That opportunity is primarily designed for those applicants already in Canada on a work permit.
CIC can and will ask for proof of funds at any time during the process. Normal request is 3 months of bank statements.

(in reply to: proof of funds - quick question) thanks Sharon for your reply.
It is very likely that I will get this position and yes they won´t wait so they will apply for work permit ... this is why I asked with concurrent applications for PR and work permit, will the CIC ask me for my proofs of fund when IA comes ??
My question remains unsanswered.
Thanks

(in reply to: proof of funds - quick question) if you are in Canada and currently working, it is my understanding that the proof of funds requirement in the skilled worker application is not as critical - for obvious reason... you are already established and working in Canada. That is the entire purpose of settlement funds in the first place.

(in reply to: proof of funds - quick question) Thanks Sharon,
now my question is answered. This is also my understanding, it is not clear from the rules that it was true, that is why I asked.
Thanks KK for your answer. Agreed with you!
