Subject: Canadian Spouse visa
I am a student in Canda and also filed for canadian immigration. My husband has a valid tourist visa till next year. What are the chances if he applies for spose visa from home country. Or should he come to canada on tourist visa and then get it converted from here?

Thanks in advance.

until you are a PR you cannot sponsor your husband. However, you now must change your marital status on your PR application. You should be able to include your husband in your own application.

If you have not told CIC that you are married, YOU MUST DO SO IMMEDIATELY or you may be denied your own application or may be prevented from every sponsoring your husband.

You cannot convert a tourist visa to permanent visa.
