Subject: brother student visa disadvantage |
I am a canadian Permanent resident.
My brother wants to study here,
Will me being a permanent resident, will it be a negative point for him when he applies for his student visa?
that if he has family here in canada, he might not return back home?

(in reply to: brother student visa disadvantage) Does he have family back at home?

(in reply to: brother student visa disadvantage) This can be seen as one factor against him but he can convince the visa officer that he is a genuine student, has no intention to stay in Canada, and has enough money to pay for his studies.
Genuine Student: If he can manage to get financial aid from some good university he is all set. Otherwise, admission should be from a reputed university/college and his course should be somewhat related to his previous work/study. He might have to prove that how doing a particular course may help him in his home country.
Family Ties: property in India, job leave letter if he can obtain one from his current employer, other assets in India, etc.
Funds: Only liquid assets are considered. No property for this factor.
