Subject: Visitor Visa/Record
  Hi all,

is it possible for an American entering Canada on a Visitor Visitor Visa/Record to leave the Canada on a trip to another country?

I am asking because I am planning to get married in the US to my wife who is American... shortly after our marriage, we plan to cross the border, leave her stuff at my house in Toronto and go on our honeymoon, probably some place in the Caribbean...

Would doing this jeopardize her application for Perm residence in any way? What if we delayed her application until after the honeymoon?

Any advice would be appreciated...
Jago

Are you Canadian Citizen?
In any case it is possible. No one may check your travel papers and you could do it just fine without any problems. However, what if they stamp your passport and find out you were out and you shouldn´t have? THis depends of your status.

I am Canadian (in reply to: Visitor Visa/Record)
I am a Canadian, but I was asking on behalf of my fiancee. We are getting married in the US but plan to live in Canada. When we cross the border back into Canada, she would be given a visitor visa/record while she waits for her Perm Res to go through. I am interested to know whether or not she can leave Canada to go on our honeymoon while under the visitor visa/record (and not yet a Perm Res). Does this jeopardize her application for Perm Res in any way?

thanks
Jago
