Subject: giving birth to baby in canada if only visiting?
Would it be permissible to have my baby in Canada because I would want to stay at my mom´s place to recover there and have her help once the baby is born for the first few weeks, even though I am a US citizen (but my mom is a naturalized canadian)? How would the Canadian government look at this? I would look into my US health insurance covering the cost of the hospital.

Any light that can be shed on this situation would be very much appreciated.

Thge chance that your US medical coverage would cover the hospital costs is highly unlikely. The procedure is not an emergency and if you need mom around invite her down to be with you where you will raise Junior.
