I know of someone who is in canada awaiting immigration paper work to be completed ...who knows his marriage will fail and is not going to work..but is afraid to even discuss this with anyone for fear his application will be denied. He is of the understanding he needs to remain in this marriage for a period of time even after his paperwork is complete....what are the rules and regulations for those who are mid way thru their immigration and have come to the understanding their marriage was a mistake?

(in reply to: What happens if the marriage fails) He has to be married to be sponsored as a spouse. If his marriage breaks before he completes his immigration formalities how can he get immigration. Once he gets his immigration he does not need to stay in the marriage cause he originally married her not just for immigration and I guess he can easily prove that if the need arises. His understanding that marriage will fail is "understanding" it is not going to affect his immigrant life.
