Subject: I am in trouble! Please help!!
I had stated in my application that I worked in Saudi for about a year in 1996. The canadian consulate has now asked me to provide
a police clearance certificate from Saudi. I approached the Saudi
authorities and they said they cannot issue me a Police clearance
certificate as I was there on a visitors visa and NOT work visa.
I am stumped now! What do I do?
It´s been like more than 2 years waiting for Buffalo to process my case. I have my medicals done, FBI checks completed and i am afraid
they may now reject my application at this final stage because of my inability to provide a PCC from Saudi.
As you all are aware - It is no use arguing with the Saudi authorities . Please help with any suggestions

Well, this looks complex, If you have interview , you can explain yourself during interview if not you have to communicate to Buffalo telling them you are not able to get Saudi certificate as u live in US currently and it´s physically not possible.

Also if you can provide them any references from Saudi, it might work,, if not do whatever , go to Saudi embassy and just try to get a letter of refrence / good conduct etc , All the best

Dont worry,i was in same situvation. Just write a covering letter saying that Saudi Authorites refuse to give. All CIC offices know about this. Also Check CIC website which says pp will be given only for current residents.

You will get through.

If London is processing your application the question is illogical and just as close if any other Visa post is to because everyone knows the Kingdom does not give Police certificates of No convictions.

The Saudi authorities must have replied to you stating that they do not issue PCC to people not physically present in Saudi Arabia. And as mentioned by other posters, CIC authorities are well aware of it and a refusal letter from Saudi authorities should serve the purpose.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
Actually the Saudi authorities simply told my friend
orally that they cannot give the PCC. When we asked them
to give it in writing, they are giving us the runaround.
To get it in writing, it looks like we have to spend lot
of time and effort. I am thinking of simply writing a letter to the Canadian Consulate explaining the situation
with supporting documents like fedex tracking no to send the documents there) and I can only hope for the best
