Hi Guys,
If anyone can help me it would so appreciated its untrue. Me and my girlfriend have been together for seven years now and have lived together for just over one, we have on many occasions vistited Canada mainly the east coast as I have family and many friends there and they have all been great in putting us up every time (6 times in 5 years not bad eh). We have now decided that we would now really like to move to Canada on a permanent basis. Some backround we are both British Citizens and my girlfriend is a primary school teacher of just over three years and has a three degree in primary education, I myself have been a real estate agent for two years and I´m currently working for a Spanish recruitment company in Spain (were both me and my partner are living and learning spanish at the same time most enjoyable). We have looked at many immigration sites lawyers consultants and so on and got most of our information, but here comes our BIG QUESTION we are seriously thinking of getting someone who knows what to do to help us with our application (as we are so busy we want to do it properly) and we are not sure if a Lawyer or consultant is best or if someone can recommend a company that they consider to be good. We have contacted lots of immigration consultants and had lots replies saying you will qualify for PR and that they can get us in Canada within 1 too 2 years and they can get the interview waivered and lots of things simillar (i just want the truth), so if anyone can recommend a compnay or advise us if a lawyer is better would be a great help and also sorry going on a bit i know what is a realistic waiting time if applying from the UK I know people can´t say this is how long it will take but an average would be good.

The Canadian Immigration process is NOT that complicated, especially for you as a native English speaker. Lawyers will charge you for doing what you can do for FREE.
AS for them getting you to the head of the lineup, that doesn´t happen. Permanent Resident appplications in the UK are now running 30 months or more to be completed, regardless of who submits it for you. The backlog is huge, all around the world, not just in the UK.
Go ahead and pay someone to do it, for you, if it makes you feel better, but it may very well be money wasted.

I´m sure that Jim can fix a plugged toilet, change his cars oil, increase his cars horse power, bake a great tasting cake etc. etc.
You on the other hand claim you have little time to spend on completing the application for permanent residence. You claim you have been looking for a good representative to assist you.
Some people are real good at following instructions and some can´t change the TV to the DVD player so they can watch a rental movie.
The immigration business is like any other business ASK FOR REFERENCES!!!!!!!!
Make sure whom ever you hire has experience in your area of concern.
If everything goes smoothly it may be the best money you ever spend!
Just an opposite opinion!
Got to go pull the engine out of my wife´s car to rebuild it.

Thank you both for your reply, I have looked through the guide and details on the CIC website and think I´m still going to look for someone to represent me due to my and my partners spare time we have, its not alot. But I will be looking around to find someone who I find to be best for me and not just financially but looking after me.

I sincerely recommend Roy if you really want to hire an immigration consultant. He is honest, straightforward and more knowledgeable than many who claim to be Immigrant specialists... He has proven record as well.
