my wife is a british citizen. I applied to sponsor her in december and the PR application was sent to Canadian High Commission London in January for processing. We just received all our documents back from them and a letter asking for a police check. (they dont require police check from uk with initial application unless requested later). Does anyone have any idea how much this will slow down the process? in the letter it says that it can take 3-6 months to review any incoming correspondence. Most the people that applied with us have just received passport requests so were quite dissapointed. Also my wife just found out she is pregnant, do we need to inform the high commission of this?

Spousal sponsorships (in reply to: spouse sponsorship) Hello.
Spousal sponsorships usually take about 6 to 8 months, but may take longer, depending upon the visa office, visa officer, and quality of application.
