they complete 80% of skilled worker applications in 12 months or less according to CIC website. I would say that is the speed of light.

That´s what CIC is telling you on their site. I´m in business class and 80% of those are processed in 36 months. A rather big discrepancy I would say.
So...I would like repeat myself....share your timelines through that office please .

99% of posters here are talking about skilled worker class and timelines are generally discussed in those terms. CIC is showing Business Class anywhere from 10 - 35 months.

what are you trying to figure out? maybe we could be more help if you were specific about what you are looking for. Business class is a very small category of applicants. I would think it depends on the complexity of application, business plan etc. Paris represents several European countries so there are likely more business applicants there than Delhi. (as an example)

Discrepancy between what? business class and skilled worker? totally different type of application. comparison is not relevant.

Please tell us what you are looking for and we will do our best to help.

Discrepancy in processing times, between Skilled and Business. Paris is one of the only offices where it takes a longer time to process business visa compared with skilled workers. One of the reasons might be that Paris is still struggling with a backlog of business applications, dating from the time that Paris was one of the few offices in the world that accepted those applications.

I´m just looking for people who had their application done through Paris, under business class. I know there are very few of us out there, that´s why I´m looking for them on different boards.

But thanks for your reply, very kind of you for willing to help ( mean that )

This is interesting. There DOES seem to be a rather gaping discrepancy. Compare the following 2 sites which give estimates of timelines for Skilled Workers visas at the Paris embassy:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/2003-Q4/02-skilled.html

AND

http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/canadaeuropa/france/visas/delais-en.asp

The CIC suggests between 6-12 months (as at Nov 04), the Paris embassy webiste suggests 24-36 months (as at Feb 04)...!

I am sincerely hoping CIC is more clued up here! Can anyone offer any info as to why the discrepancy and as to what is more likely to be closer to the truth?

Many thanks!

Hi, I´m applying for immigration to Canada in the skilled worker class through Paris office, my application was submitted on June 3, 2004, I received the AOR on August 19, 2004, no further notice from the Embassy. I am waiting anxiously the second correspondance from the them.
