FBI clearance

Subject: FBI clearance
  Could anybody please explain what is FBI clearance?Actually I applied at buffalo 6 months back and to save time intend to do it upfront? so can it be done like this or some specific forms are required from CIC and only after getting it from them can I do so?Any other suggestion to do some paper work upfront will also be helpful

It is a proof of FBI that you did not commit any crime.
No country want´s criminals, so your fbi clearence will be a proof that you are not a criminal (if you are not) and therefore will allow you to immigrate to Canada.

You will only need FBI clearance if you have lived in USA for more than 6 months.

You should visit www.cic.gc.ca and download guides for prospective immigrants. The procedure to obtain police clearance of a number of countries including FBI clearance from USA is mentioned there. Follow the procedure and you should be fine.

It takes on an average 6 to 8 weeks to get FBI clearance and it is valid for 6 months.
