I got my PR yesterday and immigration officer ask me to send the passport for visa stamping. He has mentioned based on the information on the file, your immigration visa is valid to 20 October 2007.You must enter Canada anytime before the expiry date shown on the visa; this date cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date, you will be required to reapply and submit new application and processing fees.
I cannot enter into Canada on or before 23-December, due to some professional commitment with my company.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Land in Canada for a day to complete the process. Apply for PR card and ask your friends to mail it to you. You can return later to fulfill the residency requirements.

You have no way other than what Samm told.
You even can enter Canada later without PR card (in case), though you have to go to a Canadian consulate and take a single enrty visa.
