Praveen, you mentioned that you are in Canada on working permit while still waiting for your PR. My question is would i be able to extend my work permit after 2 years, since i only received it for 2 years? Right now im working for a company and after my work experience reaches one full year will be applying for PR as well, but the process takes on average 2 years or more, and my work permit would already expire by then. Is it possible to renew the permit until the application for PR finalized? Thanks for your help!
Cheers

Anonymous, there is no rule that says you have to work for a year before you can apply for your PR. You can apply immediately you start work or few months after. The rule is you must be legally admitted for a year it doesn´t say you have to work for a year. Please apply now and you may get it before a year. Goodluck

I completely agree with what Vic has said. You should be legally admitted for a year and its not mandatory to work for a year before a PR application can be put in.

You can enter Canada on 1 yr work permit and then send off the PR application to Buffalo.

As others, even you can be lucky of becoming PR immigrant before the 1st work permit gets expired.

If hard luck, your PR application takes more than 2 yrs, you can keep extending your work permit until your employer keeps you in a position in Canada.

All the best.

You can send your PR application in skilled worker class now itself if you are legally admitted to Canada and have a 1 yr work permit.

need not wait until 1 yr has been completed. They would normally agree cases where the work permit is valid for 1 yr from the date of application filing.
