i hope this proves useful information for someone who is in a similar situation.
-----

i had the chance to finally talk to the canadian consulate (in los angeles) after a few days of trying to reach ANYONE who could answer my questions (and the woman i spoke to, whom i´d had the pleasure of speaking to before, was very sweet), today.

for your information, i am marrying a canadian (am an american citizen)... and will be going to canada the day after my wedding to a) honeymoon, b) apply from within canada for my PR (my fiancee, then husband, will sponsor me as his spouse).

i have been told that i will need my marriage certificate (the ´souvenir´ one that is issued at the wedding will suffice, for now... as i will need an ´official´ certificate for my application) and his passport (or identification documents- driver´s license and birth certificate) as well as my own passport... and perhaps proof that he will be indeed sponsoring me from within canada, and we shall have no problems getting (at least) my six month issuance to stay in canada (which is technically a visitor record, not a visa... because i am american). there is a chance, when i´ve told the officer of our intent (that i will be applying for my PR), that i might be given a 1 year visitor record instead, as to assist in the process of.. well, waiting *L* but i´ve been told that if i get the mere 6 months ´visa´ and am not at a sufficient point in the process by about 4 months, i can/should apply for an extension, which should be granted no problem.

this was a huge sore spot for me, i was worrying so. i wasn´t sure about any of this... and was very worried that i might be held back in toronto (our POE after our wedding in vegas) for one reason or another.
so it was a big relief, as you can imagine.

i´d like to know if anyone has any advice to give me at all about any of those points, or information about their own experiences. really, i think that´s the only way my mind is set at ease...

like i said, i hope some of this information is helpful.
