Subject: Have they lost my application
Hi guys my wife was approved as a sponsor on June 12,2007 and my PR application forwarded from CIC-M to the local visa office in Kingston Jamaica. Its been 9 weeks and ECAS still haven´t been updated nor have either of us been contacted about our application. How could we go about finding out if our appliacton was recieved?? We´ve emailed the office in kingston, but there reply still havent answered any of our questions. Is anyone around who´s PR application is being processed at the kingston office??? And has anyone had to wait more than 2 months for them to start processing there PR application??

hi DAS

I was sponsored by my spouse from within canada. But after he was approved as a sponsor, the process took a further 4 months. And my status on ECAS still remained as " in process" for those months, until I got a letter stating a decision had been made. Then I got another letter stating that I had to go for an interview, pay $490 and sign the documents for a pr card, that took a further month, in addition to the 4 months, before I got the pr card in the mail.

I hope this helps.

How long after they approved your spouse as sponsor before Ecas showed in processing under you PR application on ECAS? So far our application has been forwarded on June 12 and ECAS still shows Not Avaliable under PR application. So i take it they havent even started processing our application.

it was almost a month before the status was "in process". to be on the safe side, i would go to the website www.cic.gc.ca get their number and call them with the client number.

when they asked for additional documents, and we sent them, they did not show those documents as being recieved for about a month. i did get concerned and called them. and the lady explained that, they get mail, and it takes them about a month before they open it. so there is the delay.

then she said, whoever was working on our case, is the one who updates the file on ECAS. that sometimes they simply dont update things until they are almost finished with the case, then they update everything at once. while others update regularly. i noticed that updates were done on fridays, so check regularly. but first call them. to be in the safe side.

so call their number here in canada, with your client number and ask them what is going on with your case.

We´ve tried calling the canadian cic office but they said once the sponsorship is completed and sent to the local office they cant do anything more or tell us whats going on.I understand that once they start processing itat the local office they dont always update ecas. But in our case they havent even started processing it after and it has been sent there over 2 months ago.I´m really going out of my mind because its been over 2 months and they still havent even sent a AOR letter. And the thing is we cant seem to get any information on whats happening or what happened to our PR application. I need to talk to someone about our application but how or who ?

hi Das

i would go to the canadian embassy in jamaica, and ask them, if the file has been transferred to them.
get all your documents with you, and mention that you cant access information since the file has been transferred.
that is all i can think of doing.
and tell them its been 2 months, and you are worried.

hope this helps.

amber.
