Subject: Canada jobs - quick question
Just want to ask a simple question from what I read in a previous post. Just to clarify:

If no Canadian work experience, does it help to be educated and have work experience from a Commonwealth country ?

Yes or no ?

Thanks for comments

If you have education/work experience from US then you will get some leverage. Education and work experience from most Asian and African countries usually does not help much.

I would say yes. simply because our common law and governance systems are similar.

God save the Queen. :)

A further point . (in reply to: Canada jobs - quick question)
I don´t think that there is a current member country of the British Commonwealth of nations that does NOT have English as it´s official langauge ? Can anybody refute that fact ?

That in and of it´s self has to be an advantage, in coming to Canada.

Not all Jim.

Lile India, Pakistan, Bangladesh there are many countries out of 53 C´wealth countries where a bare % of population can speak in English.

I don´t know about Pakistan and Bangladesh (I´m not
qualified to comment) but I sure know that a LOT of
Indians speak fair to excellent English.

The big picture here is that the folks who are immigrating
to Canada have a decent grasp of English and/or French (
if not, then they get in because of the money!), so more
often than not you´re talking about people here with
decent work experience and language abilities.

Anyway, if you do the math, the number of people within
India who speak English is WAY ABOVE the "bare minimum"
you claim.
