You are legally entitled to work as soon as you land as a legal permanent resident, as far as I know
The question is to find a job.

CBV333 is right, you can work immeidately upon landing.
Most employers will ask you to provide your SIN#. You can apply for your SIN# upon arrival in Canada. Though the card will take about 2 weeks to be issued and mailed to you, your SIN# will be handed to you immediately when you apply. You do NOT need the actual CARD to start working, all you need is the NUMBER!
