| Subject: New Name because of change of Religion |

Hi,
I have decided to apply in canada for immigration. Before that i want to clarify one issues, if any body helps me out that will be great.
10 years back, i have converted my religion from Christian to Muslim because of my marriage and i have changed my name by affidavit with the help of notary public according to the Govertment rules. For the last 10 years, i have been using my new name in profession as well as in passport. But all of my privious documents such as educational documents, familly relations certificate are in my old name.
Now, if i apply, i have to use my new name as because for last 10 years i am using this name.
I am bit affraid whether it gonna makes any problem for my immigraion or not.

just put your old name where they ask you any other names used previously, and also you can include a copy of the affidavit indicating that the name change wa legal. As long as everything is legal you wont have any problems, AFAIK

No problems whatsoever for Immigration - all you have to
do is state your case clearly. The way I see it, your
case isn´t that much different from girls from the
sub-continent who get married and change their names.
As long as you have all the paperwork (legal) to substantiate your claims, you´ll be fine.
