Subject: Confusion and impending expiration of medicals
I´m a US citizen married to a Canadian, and I´m in the process of applying for PR. My file began processing on June 29th, 2004, at Buffalo. Several days ago I recieved a my interview waiver which stated that everything was in order and I have "0" more documents to submit. Then it went on to say that I have 60 days to submit my medical with "the enclosed forms."

This is where it gets tricky.

1) There were no enclosed forms.

2) I had my medical exam on February 7th, 2004 (this was stupid, but long story) and submitted that along with my application. So they should have it. But obviously they´re about to expire.

I´m not sure what I can do other than hang tight. Should I redo the meds? I´m ordering my CAIPS notes today in hopes of some clarification, but does anyone have advice?

You got one of those generic letters every one is sent. Nothing to worry. The good news is that you have been granted interview waiver.

Just for you peace of mind send a letter/fax to Buffalo informing them that you have already sent your medicals along with the application.

It will take alomst 30 to 40 days to get CAIPS notes. But you will get a clear picture about your case from the notes - atleast about the medical.

the best bet to me is to have your medical test done and send it to buffalo, you can never take the chance and since mail system does not work as well as fax or telephone, that means it takes time. so do not count on your old examination, that is really risky. and i think they have the package, and for whatever reason they would know you DO have a medical exam done in your package, so the thing is that they did NOT mention that at all. but all in a word, do as well as you could. good luck. you are almost set.

Well, I´ve faxed them. Hopefully they´ll have the decency to reply or something, as I don´t have another $300 lying around, but at least the CAIPS should get here in time and let me know if I really need to retake it. :)

If they wanted you to get the medicals done again they would have sent you the medical forms.

Like I mentioned before there is no need to panic right now. BUT if your medical results dont show up on the CAIPS notes then you should definately write to Buffalo.
