Subject: Which Visa Post ???? London Or Paris
If anyone can help me would be really gratefull, me and my partner have made our mind 100 per cent now after time to think about our future, and have decided that we are going to apply for PR in Canada. Now we have been looking at lawyers (as we don´t really get much spare time and it is a very good price compared to lots of people, but we have not offically payed for his service just believe we have found the right person) now I must explain we are living in Spain currently and have done for 1 year now but we are British citizens and lived in England for a whole lives until we came he because of work, now the lawyer we have been speaking with has said to us after we asked him were we should apply, has said he believes Paris would be best for us instead of London because for his company (who are based in the french part of Canada) the average waiting time for a Pr is 18 to 24 months and for london 24 to 36 months. Now we have done some looking and research ouselves and most websites have said 50 to 60 months for the Paris office and 36 for london, does anyone know weather it be from experienced or anything else if either fo these figures are right or do you feel he is just telling us what we want to hear..........

Many thanks to anyone who can help
M..

donot go on the websites, people applying nowadays from london are getting 48 months waiting period after which they will come up the pile so its around 5 to 6 years till u get ur pr. if u wanna apply through quebec than paris will be faster.

if you will be in Spain for the next 12 months you can apply through Paris.

Here is my theory - if you apply on the english side of Paris you will be in a different pile on someone´s desk - likely a smaller pile.

The historical processing times are factoring applicants that were caught in a point change back in 2002. They caused the wait times to virtually double in a year. If you notice, on the Paris CIC site they show a projected wait of 2-3 years for 2006 applications. It could be more but it also could be less, depending on the complexity of your documentation, english/french etc.

To be honest, consider doing your own application- save the money. I don´t know your skillset but also consider a provincial nominee scenario.
