Why the unusual questions Sam? R U the former Jim B.?

I did not hear appeals I presented the Minister´s Case at various hearings. The term now is admissability officer but then it was CPO or Case Presentation Officer. PR who have been convicted of serious offences, residency obligation violations, working without authorization etc.

I also did what was known then as Credible Basis Hearings for refugee claimants. An example would be a Chinese person who speaks only Cantonese makeing a refugee claim that he was in Tinamen Square for the democracy demonstations yet he can not speak Mandarin and did not know there was a torrential down pour on Tuesday etc.

Represnted the Minister at hundreds of thousands detentin reviews. Then headed the Unit and assigned the detention reviews to various other CPO´s.

Now next week I will be trying to keep a man (PR) in the country who has been accused of a MOC Marriage of Convienece. I will win his case not because he is guilty or innocent all I ever fight is their evidence.

innocent question... Refugee application - how many would you say are bogus? Do people think it is an easy route to go? Your comments about the rain on a Tuesday and the Mandarin language - I am sure that reason has been used alot and those fact are common knowledge for CPO´s

what was your wildest bogus story?

Sharon LOL

Wildest refugee story.

First Sharon 48% of all refugee claims are sucessful which does not make any sense to me. Then it does make sense when you consider self preservation of IRB members.

The IRB Board Member is normally on a two year contract making a couple hundred thousand per year and he/she needs a job on the following Monday. If He/She refuses the majority of the claimants no new claimants will arrive on Canada´s shores.

Former Minister of Immigration Judy Sgro was quoted in the Globen & Mail on November 11th 2005 that most refugee claimants are econmic migrants. She was working on a procedure to allow all kinds of construction workers, cleaners and day care type people to remain to fill the vacancies that Canadian´s were not filling.

Wildest story.

Guy from Ghana was trading Cattle for Guns. One Cattle for Eight guns. Like an idiot I asked which type of Cattle, Bull, Steer or Cow he was trading which does not make a bit of difference in Africa were there is no refigeration for milk.

I asked him why he was chosen from his village to be the one to trade Cattle for Guns and he said because HE WAS THE SMARTEST PERSON IN HIS VILLAGE.

I asked him how he got to Canada and he said he had climbed into a plane from the wheels up and came into the BIG plane while everyone were taking their seats. He took a seat while others were boarding. I asked him if he moved from seat to seat and he said no. I asked him if the plane was full when it took off and he said yes.

I then asked him how he knew that particular seat was going to be the only empty seat on the plane and he said because, HE WAS THE SMARTEST PERSON IN HIS VILLAGE.

I don´t know if your story about the IRB should make me mad, cry and throw up my hands. Maybe I should apply! I am the smartest person in my village.
