Subject: Police Certificate!!
  Dear All;

I am living in Canada and originally from Mainland China. My immigration application as a family class has been filed in Buffalo Visa Office, just got a letter from them yesterday regarding the original Police Certificate from my homecountry.(Before they didn´t require this certificate from people who come from mainland China.)
My problem is:
Does the police department have their standard form to fill in? otherwise where should i get it?
As the language is neither English nor Franch, the CIC requires an accredited translator? Can Chinese Embassy help me this out? Otherwise, what should I do?

Need your help urgently! Thanks in advance!

Go to chinese embassy or consulate in china and ask for police clearance certificate. they will let you know how to go around and also you can request them to give you in english. IF they cant give you in english then get it in chinese or whatever lang they can and translate it and submit. you should do it as soon as possible.

Thanks for your info. Do you mean Chinese Embassy in Canada? I am just so confused that if there has a standard form that the local police department has to fill out. I heard that i can get someone to the local police office to obtain a written one stating that i have no criminal record and then have it translated at a notary office, present it to the CIC office both the Chinese and English one. Please let know if this is true. I am so frustrated now! Thanks again for you help, hope to hear from you soon.

I guess you need to just find out chineese embassy in Canada .. They generally provide this all miscellaneous services. Or else you can send necessary documents to china and can get PCC from there. Its easy but it takes time.

police certificate or no criminal record same? (in reply to: Police Certificate!!)
I have a question about this police certificate. I have a notary document which shows no criminal record was found since I left to USA in 1996. Is it the same as the police certificate you guys are talking about or totally different?

Hi Sophie,
Thanks for your reply. I am really appreciated.
Another question. The no criminal record notary we have is two year´s old (we got from china two years ago) , is it still usable or I need to order a new one?
My wife completed high school in china and one-year full time study (BS degree) in usa, can we have 3 point under adaptbility cat?

Hi Hua, you are welcome.
Regarding your Police certificate, i suggest that you check with CIC (call them) to make sure the one you have is still valid. Because some people say it will be expired after 6 months.
for adopting the cat, i am sorry i have no idea. you can post a new topic and let others help.
Good luck!
