Subject: Citizenship Eligibility... |

hi there, I came to Canada as a student and after 3 years I got my PR beginning of last year (Jan 2006). As I have heard from couple of friends, it seems I can apply for Citizenship after 730 days (including 1 year as a student before getting PR). I am not sure if this is true?
I crossed to US more than a few times and I didnt keep track of how long I stayed in US on each trips, as I was going to US on vacation. Will it be a problem if I use an approximate count of these days? What are the consequences if I forget to deduct those days not in canada?

Citizenship Eligibility... (in reply to: Citizenship Eligibility...) You can count up to 1 year maximum (before obtaining PR status) towards your residency requirement. However, please note that time before obtaining PR status is counted at 50%. This means, it actually reflects 2 years of residency in Canada before obtaining PR status.
