Please, I had my interview on the 20th of June, 2007, after the interview the immigration officer told me that they?ll investigate. my question is this what are they investigating, is this background/ security check and if it?s so how long does this last before one gets PR.The whole thing is giving me sleepless nites

There are 3 admissibility checks, namely, Medical, Background and Security. The 3 are routines in every immigration case. Was ur Immigration officer referring to any of them? I do not know. It depends on the nature of ur case and the reason for calling you to the interview. You may need to provide some more details in order to enable someone to give you the right advice

No, he didn?t tell me the nature of the interview, he asked me how I came to the country I am now ( because I seeked for an assylum there) and my relationship with my spouse, infact it?s all about the genuity of my marriage, the interview lasted for two good hours after then he told me that he?ll go on investigation, that the investigation will take months.
