Subject: Can I apply for Police Certificate in advance?
I am currently in Canada. I heard that It takes up to 4 months to get your Police Clearance. My question is Can I apply for my clearance in advance before the 2nd letter is sent out.

Thanks

Its not a bad idea to apply for RCMP clearance before hand. If its been about 7 or 8 months since you applied for immigration you should probably get an RCMP clearance.

Yes you can (in reply to: Can I apply for Police Certificate in advance?)
Yes you can request your clerance report in advance. You do need RCMP plus from other countries you lived more then 6 months. It is better to have it ready when they ask you for it. If you did not apply for PR yet, and are not planning to mail your application soon, wait until you have your clearance report and include that in your application. It will save you at least extra 3 months of waiting time. All the best!

Yeah you should. Calculate the average wait time for IA and also keep in mind the points you make. If these are sufficiently high than pass mark it makes sense to apply for Police clearance around the 6-7th month from AOR date. It will cut your wait time by at least a 1-2 month.

This is a trade-off you have to judge. Worst case you are asked for an interview but return is no waiting for this slow and agnonizing process.
