Subject: Passport is expired and but US Visa is not! |

Hi every one,
I´m a pernament resident in Ontario,Canada. I received US visa about a year ago, and it´s valid in 10 years. My Vietnamese passport was expired on Oct 2007 but I can´t extend it, it´s the new law. So I had to apply for a new one. Now my passport number is different from that on my US visa.
My question is: do I need to let the US consulate know about the change or just show them both passports at the US custom? I intend to go to US in Feb 2008.
Thankyou so much!

(in reply to: Passport is expired and but US Visa is not!) You should attach both of the PP together and should be fine. Just in case to be 100% safe side can call them.

You are fine (in reply to: Passport is expired and but US Visa is not!) Keep your new passport as well as your old passport which has the visa , with you at all times. I did that for quite some time. When you go to US, show them the visa in your old passport and use new passport for all other purposes.

Endorsement of valid visaon new PP (in reply to: Passport is expired and but US Visa is not!) Can a valid US visa be endorsed on a new passport obtained after loss of the old pasport?

Endorsement of valid visaon new PP (in reply to: Passport is expired and but US Visa is not!) Can a valid US visa on a passport which is misplaced or lost be endorsed on a new passport obtained after loss of the old pasport?
