Hi can anyone help me and my partner we are British and decided to take a year off from the stress of life and go work in Canada for a year and travel while there on a one year open Bunac visa. We have visited canada many times before and new we would like it here BUT we have literally fallen in love with it here (and made some very good friends) and do not want to leave. Does anyone know if we can apply for PR while here in Canada on this visa? We are both working but it is completley unskilled the work we are doing, but we do have more than enough points on the PR test as my partner has a skilled trade and 4 or more years experience with a degree. If someone can help us as we really don?t want to leave Canada it just feels like home now to us. If we can apply for PR can we do it in Canada or does it have to be in London which has a crazy waiting time. Please someone help us, we just don?t want TO LEAVE.

The issue is this. You can apply from London via mail. Or in theory through Buffalo RPC because you have been admitted for a year--regulation 11-- but you want to stay PERIOD correct?
Your partner has a skilled trade plus four years experience---go after quality position even if he has to work for nothing for a week to prove your partners worth. Submit your temporary work permit application to London within two weeks with LMO you will have to go across the border into the US and turn around. When you come back in you will have a work permit and you will be listed as accompaning with an open work permit. This will give you medical coverage and you can leave and come back.
While admitted for a year submit through Buffalo or London for a PNP or FSW,

HI roy yes the idea was to stay period. But we wasn´t sure weather to try get offers of employment while on the bunac visa and then hope that we can get a work permit or apply for FSW. The only problem we see arising is that my partner is a school teacher, so our plan would be to get both our qualifications recognised and get my partner registered as a teacher with the college of teachers then start to look for jobs that would give us a temporary work permit, while we are doing this we will be able to work on our open bunac visa. Does this sound viable to you?

I thought so the stay PERIOD issue. Most things can be done via snail mail or courier. If someone has to pick up your authorization that is fine see IP9 manuals it will explain how.
Get credentials recognized, get offer of employment, apply for LMO, submit work permit application (outside of Canada) possibly US border town (Seattle, Buffalo, Detroit) enter US or UK and return with two work permits.

Hi roy sorry, yes my gilfriend is a primary school teacher with 4 years experience. I mean?t to say a skilled job which is what i thought it comes under. Does this make it more confussing or harder for us ?
