  Hi
I am posting this on behalf of my friend. She is PR of Canada andShad studied in US and worked there for a while on a work visa .and now applied for a visitor visa to US in Canada.her interview was done and she was asked to email the consulate her CV/publications and a detailed job description and deatiled description abt area of research/study.Her field of Research is Science. The visa officer said that after she provides the info it would be four weeks to process the application and then they would email her back and then I guess she has to go to the consulate.Did anyone have gone through similar to this please let us know your experiences.

What I understand; she is a Canadian PR, previously studied & worked in the US, now wants to visit in tourist visa.

based on that,

I´m a bit surprized to know the proceedings. I never heard US consulate taking documents by e-mail. Also for visit visa they are asking CV/publication? For visa purpose they don´t communicate via e-mail.

Sometimes they select applicants for security check which may take any time, other than that depending on consulate they issue the visa within 1/3 business days.

For visitor visa I wonder why they ask CV/publications. They ask for proof of stable job..properties...gamily ties..such stuffs.

It happened to one of my friends. He was also asked to provide additional documents (job details, etc.) but the visa officer told him most likely he will issue him the visa. As his case was urgent, the visa officer told him that they will try to process faster than usual 4 weeks time frame. He got the visa in 2 weeks.

I hope this helps.

Interesting, I didn´t know that.

I think if they tell you to send the docs without farther interview then the´ll give you the visa upon reciept, just a matter of time.

Didn´t know torurist visa takes so long.

H-1/H4, TD..takes only 1/3 days.

Hi all
Well she had her interview already for the visitor visa since she was doing research in the area of Basic science and that in a university they wanted to know the job description and detailed research/area of study that she is doing plus her CV.Just further security check I guess thanks for all suggestions. It happened to some people who had Ph.D´s too when they have been to India for H1-B visa stamping.Any more experiences and suggestions are welcome. The consulate asked her to either fax or email these documents.
Thanks
