Subject: Departure order
My in-laws claimed refugee status in Canada in March 2003. They traveled from the US where they were here on expired visas (overstay), but they had legally entered the US. They have just been denied their refugee claim and have been ordered to leave Canada and return to the US. Can you tell me what happens when they reach the US border? Because they are not US citizens will they be detained or returned to their home country or will they be able to cross the border? Thank you for any help.

Challenge the deportation order and you will get extension for some time. Hire a good consultant and have him solve your problem.

They will be sent back to their country because the US will never accept them and so does Canada as their Canadian visa is also invalid( I assume). They will be made to pay for the tickets too...
