Hi I´m from the UK and used to run my own business there, and after leaving 1.5 years ago for the cayman islands we have decided we want to live in Canada.
We have found a tree nursery/farm for sale and were wondering about buying it and how we apply for visas etc (more what type rather than where)
My wife is a UK lawyer, but although i ran my own business in the UK i have no degree etc. (or farming experience, but would get 6 months training as part of the farm buy out)
We would be investing about C$750000 out of personal funds and also have some other property in the UK.
What visa should we apply for and how long would it take

The answer depends on which province the farm is located and that provinces PNP business program. Either way normally 2 years business or management experience out of the last five years is required. Processing time eight months total from UK
You could also try to get a LMO based on the need to employ yourself.

Thanks Roy the Province is Alberta, I do have the experience of setting up and running a uk company but it was in the museum/video/computer markets. I do not have the farm experience as yet.
how does the lmo work?
